My Voice Back exists to support individuals navigating the difficult realities of spiritual abuse, clergy abuse, and other forms of trauma.
For many survivors, the experience of abuse within a faith community can lead to deep confusion, loss of trust, and questions about identity and faith. This space is intended to offer understanding, resources, and hope for those seeking healing.
My Voice Back was created with three core purposes in mind.
To assist and provide support for individuals recovering from abuse, with a particular focus on spiritual abuse and clergy or professional sexual misconduct.
Healing from these experiences can be complex and deeply personal. Through counselling, writing, and speaking, Kristal seeks to create space for survivors to process their stories and rediscover their voice.
To provide clear and honest information about clergy and professional sexual misconduct.
Accurately naming harmful behavior is an important step in reshaping how the church and society respond to abuse. Understanding the dynamics of power, grooming, and institutional silence can help both survivors and communities move toward truth and healing.
To encourage churches, leaders, and denominations to develop policies and practices that ensure faith communities are safe places for everyone.
Healthy communities acknowledge the reality of abuse, listen to survivors, and take responsibility for protecting those who are vulnerable.
For many people, reclaiming their voice after abuse can feel overwhelming. But healing is possible, and you do not have to walk that journey alone.
